| Healthy Families Travis County helps parents and children form special bonding and attachment through playing, reading, singing and many other everyday life activities, so that future issues, such as juvenile crime, dropping out of school, teen pregnancy and welfare dependency may possibly be deterred. Program features include: ~ Services begin prenatally for first time parents ~ Long term services are provided up to three years ~ ~ Home visits occur weekly for the first 6 months to one year, frequency decreases at families request ~ ~ Family-centered, strength-based individualized service plans are provided for each family ~ ~ Services are provided by culturally diverse and bilingual staff ~ ~ Staff complete 40 hours of intensive training before working with families; then 30 hours of training annually ~ ~ HFTC collaborates with City of Austin Community Health Centers, Austin Independent School District, Any Baby Can, and other local community partners ~ |


| Events Healthy Families Travis County sponsors events for children and families to promote group fellowship and support. Some events include: Holiday Party, Graduation Ceremonies, and other social and educational activities. Food and supplies are provided through donations.
